Friday, October 8, 2021: TORONTO/DUBLIN: We depart Toronto for Dublin, the Capital City of Ireland. Overnight flight via Air Transat Wide Body Airbus 300, who boast of having the newest Trans-Atlantic Airbus Fleet. In-flight service includes hot meals, imported wines and the most current in flight movies and music. Headsets, drinks, duty free liquor can be purchased on the flight to Ireland. You must use your credit card for alcoholic drinks and duty-free items on the plane.
*Prior to boarding we will spend 2 hours in the Premium Lounge at the Toronto Airport. Unlimited open bar, food and desserts are complimentary prior to the flight.*
Saturday, October 9, 2021: DUBLIN/BRAY (Dinner): We land in Dublin this morning. After going through immigration and customs we are met by our Driver/Guide for the week. Upon departing Dublin Airport, we travel approximately 20 minutes to downtown Dublin, where we will have a panoramic Tour of "Europe's Fastest growing Capital City". We will see the General Post Office (GPO) on O'Connell Street, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Phoenix Park, home of the president's residence.
After our tour of Dublin, we travel to the beautiful seaside resort of Bray, located in the Wicklow mountains on the tip of the Irish Sea... the town is located 25 minutes south of Dublin. We will spend out next 2 nights at the Wilton Hotel, a short drive or walk to the sea. Dinner tonight will be in the dining room of the hotel.
Sunday, October 10, 2021: BRAY/DUBLIN (Breakfast): After our first Irish breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast, scones, bacon, cereal, coffee, tea, etc., we will be on our way for a full day in Dublin. Our first stop will be in the quaint town of Enniskerry where you will see one of Ireland's most picturesque villages with its shops, parks, cafes and pubs. After our visit, we will head directly into Dublin where the city is ours to enjoy all day! We will have the opportunity to explore Dublin's many sights. Maybe you will wish to visit the book of Kells in Trinity College, shop on O'Connell Street, visit the general Post Office, or take a tour of the Guiness Brewery and James Distillery. You won't want to miss Dublin's "Left Bank" Temple Bar and main entertainment district. The choice of pubs and restuarants is endless. Don't miss the Brazen Head Pub, Ireland's oldest pub. After a long day in Dublin, we head back to Bray for our last night in the Dublin area.
Monday, October 11, 2021: DUBLIN/GALWAY (Breakfast): After breakfast, our tour takes us west to the seaport town if Galway, Ireland's youngest city. Our next two nights will be spent in this busy and vibrant city. Upon arriving in the afternoon, we will be given a panoramic tour. Seeing such sights as Galway Cathedral with its mosaic of JFK, Eyre Square, which was named Kennedy Square after his 1961 visit; the Spanish Arch and the seaside resort of Salthill located on Galway Bay.
Tonight, you may wish to go McDonough's Seafood restaurant for what it Galway's best fish & chips.
Tuesday, October 12, 2021: GALWAY (Breakfast): After a leisurely breakfast we will take a scenic tour of the Connemara region, which is noted for its Gaelic speaking people. We travel along the Galway Bay via Kylemore Abbey for a photo stop. Continuing via the scenic countryside complete with the sheep crossing stops.
We have the opportunity to visit Connemara Marble Factory and see how this beautiful green marble is quarried and polished. We also travel through the charming village of Cong which is the location of the 1952 movie, The Quiet Man, with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. We arrive back in Galway City in the late afternoon where you will have free time to explore this delightful town.
Tonight, why not explore Ireland's youngest and most vibrant city and stop in at some of Galway's best pubs, The Quays, An Pucan, The Front Door.
Wednesday, October 13, 2021: GALWAY/KILLARNEY (Breakfast & Dinner): This morning we are heading south toward Killarney for our next two nights. After departing Galway our first stop will be the unbelievable Cliffs of Mohr. These magnificent cliffs rise to a height of 700 feet above the Atlantic and stretch for a distance of 5 miles along the coast.
We continue south from the cliffs to the ferry port where we will ferry over the River Shannon to make our way to Killarney.
Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.
Thursday, October 14, 2021: KILLARNEY/DINGLE (Breakfast): After breakfast, our tour today takes us along the Kerry Coast to the Dingle Peninsula. Our first stop will be Inch Beach where Ryan's Daughter was filmed. On to Dingle Town for a time to explore this seaside town. Here you can get the "Best Fish & Chips in all of Ireland" at Harrington's. Our tour takes us to the Beehive Huts, Neolithic Age, 4000-year-old monuments, as we travel out by Slea Head at the tip of the peninsula. We continue on to Tralee on our way to Killarney. Dinner is on your own this evening. You may want to take in the traditional Irish show, or the Killarney nightlife.
Friday, October 15, 2021: KILLARNEY/MALAHIDE (Breakfast): This morning we will travel east back to the Dublin area for our last night.
Departing Killarney this morning we travel south to County Cork into the small magical town Blarney. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Blarney Castle to receive the "gift of eloquence" for all those who partake. You can also visit the world-famous Blarney Woolen Mills. The Woolen mills are the place for great buys on crystal, Belleek, tweeds, linens and knitwear.
Heading north our next stop is the "Rock of Cashel", a stately limestone outcrop topped with medieval ruins. This is the inauguration site of the Munster Kings including High King Brian Boru!
Our next stop will be in the Malahide, our last night in Ireland.
Saturday, October 16, 2021: DUBLIN/TORONTO/USA (Breakfast): After breakfast we transfer to Dublin Airport. We will have the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping at the famous duty-free shop at Dublin Airport. After a few last pints in the airport, we sadly bid farewell to the mystical land they call IRELAND.
