FRIDAY JULY 22, 2016 

TORONTO/DUBLIN

We depart Toronto for Dublin, Ireland.  Overnight flight via Air Transat Wide Body Airbus 300, who boast of having the newest Trans-Atlantic Airbus Fleet. In flight service includes hot meals, imported wines and the most current in flight movies and music. Headsets can be purchased for $2.00 cdn. You will need a credit card to purchase head sets, alcoholic drinks and duty free on the plane.

 

SATURDAY JULY 23, 2016                

DUBLIN CITY

We land in Dublin this morning.  After going through immigration and customs, we are met by our Driver/Guide Micky Nolan for the week. We will have the opportunity to exchange money into Euros at Shannon Airport or use the ATM Machine.

 

Upon Departing the Dublin Airport we travel approximately 20 minutes to downtown Dublin. Mick will take us on a panoramic tour of “Europe’s Fastest growing Capital City”. We will see the General Post Office (GPO) on O’Connell Street, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Phoenix Park, and Kilmainhan Jail.

After our morning tour you will have the rest of the afternoon to explore Dublin and it’s many sights. Maybe you may want to visit the Guinness Brewery or the Jameson Distillery. You may be interested in visiting Trinity College and the “Book of Kells” or Temple Bar, Dublin’s Left Bank and entertainment district. The choice of Pubs and Restaurants are endless. Don’t miss the Brazen Head Pub, Ireland’s oldest pub. Dinner is on your own in Dublin City.  

 

SUNDAY JULY 24, 2016                

DUBLIN CITY

This morning after our first Irish breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast, scones, bacon, cereal, coffee, tea etc., we will be on our way south traveling through the beautiful Wicklow Mountains of Glendalough. Here you will visit the 6th Century monastic settlement of St. Kevin. You won’t want to miss the ancient cemetery with its many Celtic Cross Headstones and you will see some round towers. Enjoy an Irish lunch in Glendalough before our picturesque ride back through the Wicklow Mountains returning back to Dublin. The rest of the day is yours to tour and shop the City of Dublin and visit places you don’t get to on your first day in Dublin.

 

MONDAY JULY 25, 2016   

KILLARNEY, COUNTY KERRY

On our third day in Ireland we will head South West to our next stop the “Rock of Cashel” a stately limestone outcrop topped with medieval ruins. This sacred place was inauguration palace for the Irish Munster Kings where Brian Boru was crowned King of Munster over 1,000 years ago.

Depart Cashel we travel southwest to Country Cork into small magical town of Blarney. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Blarney Castle to receive the “gift of eloquence” for all those who partake. You will have the opportunity to visit the worlds famous Blarney Woolen Mills and give you the opportunity for great buys on crystal, Belleek, tweeds, linens and knitwear. Leaving Blarney, County Cork we head north to the Lake Hotel Killarney out hotel for the next two nights situated on Lake Leane adjacent to Killarney National Park. Whether you are enjoying dinner or breakfast at the Lake Hotel you will be amazed by the beauty of the lake, Mountains and Red Deer out the windows. Arriving in Killarney we have the evening free to explore the many pubs and shops in this magical Village. 

 

TUESDAY JULY 26, 2016             

KILLARNEY, COUNTY KERRY

After breakfast our tour today takes us along the Kerry coast to the Dingle Peninsula. Our first stop will be inch beach where Ryan’s Daughter was filmed. On to Dingle Town for a time to explore this seaside town. Here you can get the “Best Fish & Chips in all Ireland” at Harrington’s. Out tour takes us to the Bee hive Huts, Neolithic Age 4,000 year old Monuments, Gallarus Oratory as we travel to Slea Head at the tip of the peninsula. We continue on to Conor Pass on our way to Kilalrney.

Dinner is on your own and you may want to do a Killarney Pub Crawl. Don’t miss Danny Manns, The Laurels, Murphy’s Bar, O’Meara Pub, O’Donoghe’s, They are all within a short walk. 

 

WEDNESDAYJULY 27, 2016                     

WESTPORT

After breakfast we will be heading to Westport County Mayo. Our first stop will be the quaint town of Adare noted for its thatched roof cottages and known as the wedding capital of Ireland. As we continue to make our way to Westport we continue on to Bunratty Village, home of the Bunratty Castle and the Bunratty Woolen Mills and Durty Nelleis, one of Ireland’s oldest pubs. Here we will stop for lunch and shopping.

 After leaving Bunratty we stop at the unbelievable Cliffs of Mohr. These magnificent cliffs rise to a height of 700 feet above the Atlantic and stretch for a distance of 5 miles along the coast. After the breathtaking Cliffs of Mohr we are off to Westport’s only waterfront hotel, located at the Quay village bustling with a friendliness atmosphere. Feel and taste the ocean’s force on your door step while enjoying the sheer beauty of Clew Bay and the greatness of Croagh Patrick.

 

THURSDAY JULY 28, 2016                        

WESTPORT

After a leisurely breakfast we will take a scenic tour of the Connemara Region, which is noted for its Gaelic speaking people. We have the opportunity to visit Kylemore Abbey a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of the Kylemore Castle, Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord, is surrounded by spectacular Mountain peaks and lots of sheep. 

 

FRIDAY JULY 29, 2016               

CLONTARF, COUNTY DUBLIN

After breakfast we will travel through the charming village of cong which is the location for the 1952 movie, The Quiet Man, with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.

This afternoon we will travel back to Dublin area for our last night in this coastal town of Clontarf. Located 10 minuets from the heart of Dublin City centre and 5 miles from Dublin airport, the Clontarf Castle Hotel in Ireland is an oasis, tucked away in a tranquil setting, surrounded by fabulous golf courses and the sounds of lapping water from the Irish sea. This will be your final dinner as a group in Ireland.

 

SATURDAY JULY 30, 2016          

DUBLIN/TORONTO/USA

After breakfast we transfer to the Dublin Airport. We will have the opportunity to do some last minute shopping at the famous duty free shop at the Dublin airport. After a few last minute pints we sadly say goodbye to the magical place we call IRELAND.
