Miltown Malbay, County Clare is the ancestral home to many families from Western New York.  If you are related or friends of any Talty, Gorman, McNamara, O’Brien, O’Neill, Moroney, Killeen, McGrath, Kane living in Buffalo and many more families, you will be walking on their ancestors lands.

Our first stop will be the unbelievable Cliffs of Mohr.  These magnificent cliffs rise to a height of 700 feet above the Atlantic and stretch for a distance of 5 miles along the coast. After the breathtaking Cliffs of Mohr we will be stopping at St. Bridget’s Holy Well.  The local people make the rounds every year on St. Bridget’s Feast Day February 1st.  This is a nice drive along the Atlantic Coast heading South through Liscannor, the home of John Philip Holland who was an Irish engineer who developed the first submarine to be formally commissioned by the U.S. Navy, and the first Royal Navy submarine, Holland. Then the village of Lahinch with the world famous golf course but now known as the “hottest” surfing beach in Ireland.

Tonight, you may wish to go to stay at the Bellbridge House Hotel for food and drinks or take a short taxi ride in to Miltown Malbay and sample the pubs and culture.  On our first night we are invited into LYNCH’S PUB in Miltown to have a pint.  LYNCH’S  pub is on the historical rolls and the pub is original as it was a 100 years ago with a stone floor and a little fire place that will be burning if the evening is cool.  You can stay as long as you like but make sure you can get back to the Bell Bridge because the next morning we are off early on a tour of County Clare.
